From the Void

An exhibition bringing together works by Sasha Prakhova and Kant Kimura. Through calligraphic and abstract painting, the project explores emptiness, impermanence and the particular value of a passing moment.

About the project

From the Void brings together Sasha Prakhova and Kant Kimura, artists whose different backgrounds meet in an attention to the present moment. Their works approach human existence through the image of an abyss, while finding value in the fleeting perceptions through which life becomes tangible.

Kimura’s large abstract paintings are read through the idea of emptiness and a sense that the self and the surrounding world belong to one process. The moment of recognition is spontaneous: an encounter with a painting can interrupt the usual separation between observer and environment.

Prakhova’s calligraphic works offer another route towards a similar awareness. Their gestures hold a courageous sense of human finitude alongside the enduring value of immediate experience. The exhibition connects these practices through the encounter between time and eternity, asking what it means to remain attentive to the here and now.
