The Clouds Will Melt
An exhibition bringing together different personal experiences of war: uncertainty, fear, memory and the imagined future.
Artists: Antigonna, Katya Kopeykina, Olena Dombrovska and Aliona Tokovenko. Also presented under the German title Wolken Schmelzen.
About the project
“Before the war”, “at the beginning of the war” and “after victory” have become shared points of reference. But between these collective markers, each person lives a different history of fear, decisions and endurance. War is not confined to the frontline: an ongoing struggle also takes place within each of us.
The Clouds Will Melt approaches this experience through a sense of the “clarity of the unclear”. It makes room for what resists rational explanation — the opaque, unfamiliar and subconscious — without treating uncertainty as something that must immediately be resolved. The exhibition inhabits the border between a militant confidence in reason and progress and an immersion in the less controllable parts of human life.
Weakness, pleasure, speculation and strength coexist here. Meaning emerges through participation and lived experience, sometimes without an explanation that could make it fully transparent. The project stays with that fragile possibility of meaning amid disorder and fear.
